Abstract

The war for talent has been around since the 1990's - remember when skilled South Africans emigrated before the 1994 election? Or the gradual decline in the education and skills development system? The war for talent was important in 1998, has reached a tipping point in some organisations today and dare I say... will be alive and frustrating for employers in 2028. What has changed over this period is the sheer complexity of the world we inhabit, the speed of developments and the sophistication of the workforce.
