Abstract

The South African Government continues to lack creative policy-thinking concerning migration. While the country remains a beacon of hope and prosperity for many, both on and off the continent, the South African Government has failed to address issues of xenophobia, overcrowding, and the creation of a sound policy toward migration that could alleviate many of the pressures the country faces. Migration policy in South Africa continued to be influenced by the country's apartheid history.
