Abstract

On 29 August 2013, Ghana's supreme court dismissed an opposition case alleging fraud in the 2012 presidential election and upheld current president John Dramani Mahama's election win. The verdict brings an end to months of political uncertainty, and the proceedings represented an important test for one of Africa's most stable democracies.
