Abstract

Negotiations between the Malian government and predominantly ethnic Tuareg separatist movement representatives have suffered serious setbacks since a peace agreement was brokered by regional actors in 2013. The current peace roadmap calls for major progress in peace negotiations in September and October, but this appears increasingly unlikely.
