Abstract

Terror groups seeking to disrupt African economies as a means of attacking central governments are looking to the seas. With African nations dependant on imports from abroad arriving by ship and commodities and local products vital to their foreign trade exported by sea, the severing of these commercial arteries would be catastrophic.
