Abstract

Workers' strikes that have stalled economic growth in South Africa and consequently hobbled government's ability to address social problems will remain a constant disruptive presence in the country for the foreseeable future. However, workers' strikes can be weaned from violence and cooperation between labour, employers and government can be enhanced.
