Ghana remains stable and prosperous despite an Ebola outbreak in the West African region, the presence of Boko Haram to the east, and political instability in Burkina Faso and Mali to the north. Geographically buffered by Côte d'Ivoire from areas where Ebola is virulent and from Boko Haram activity by Togo, Ghana's challenges are instead mostly economic. Inflation has risen in 2015 due to the increased price of oil and utilities. The 2015 government budget prioritised the establishment of an Industrial Bank to help boost local industries, the conversion of the Export Development and Investment Fund into a proper Export and Import Bank to aid foreign capital in Ghana, and the issuing of bonds to bolster the trade of Ghana's most lucrative commodity, cocoa.
