Abstract

African elections usually offer a choice between self-serving politicians whose only interest is the power and graft opportunities offered by government leadership posts and visionary candidates seeking new ways to uplift the country. The run-up to Tanzania's October elections shows many of the former type running, and offering no genuine corruption reform.
