Abstract

The power of African nation's militaries over the governance of their countries was never more apparent than when factions of Burkina Faso's army decided the democratic will of its people is irrelevant to the country's ultimate governance. The mentality is more common than not on a continent struggling to solidify civilian institutions of governance.
