In the last six years Tanzania! has experienced a wave of industrial labour unrest in the form of strikes, petitions for the dismissal of certain management officials, particularly those dealing directly with personnel matters, and other forms of labour protest strategies. This labour unrest has, however, become a serious phenomenon since the adoption of the TANU Mwongozo in 1971.
