Abstract

The Dag Hammarskjold Foundation Seminar on Education held in Dar es Salaam in 1974 brought together several of the most internationally known ""progressive"" education reformers of African education. Confusing the objective basis for attitudes to work in relations of production and blaming them on the education system, the report of the Seminar expressed concern about the fact that the ""people look down upon manual labour as being inferior to white-collar work"".
