Abstract

Prof E J Marais of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Fort Hare points out that Westerners have tended to doubt the existence of an African Philosophy because it has been approached from a positivist and ethnocentric point of view. But when looked at from an existential and phenomenological point of view, African philosophy is a rich complexity of human thought and reality.
