Abstract

On the evidence available, it would seem that even the earliest people in South Africa were immigrants. Remarking on the possibility that mankind might have evolved in South Africa, Inskeep in The Peopling of Southern Africa reviews the evidence for the migration of pre-historic man to the southern regions and finds that, as in many other parts of the world, the history of these southern lands is one of continuous migration.
