When the mature exercise their responsibility they become targets of the immature and black theology becomes the theology of protest (much of it is not theology and many of those who write and speak on it hardly know the basics of theology). This theology of protest is a reaction against what is considered to be an unjust status quo. This is why black theology could become an issue in Southern Africa.
