The economy of Nigeria is heavily dependent on agriculture. Three out of every four Nigerians work on the land and one Naira seventy kobo out of every two Naira earned from Nigerian exports comes from agricultural exports. Investment in agricultural improvement and agricultural education could double Nigeria's wealth. Yet investment in agriculture - despite its vital role in the Nigerian economy - is inadequate.
