Abstract

Achmat Dangor is an award-winning South African writer. His best-known novels are (1997) and (2001), the latter of which was nominated for the prestigious Man Booker Prize in 2004. His most recent publication is (2013), a collection of short stories. He has also published poetry. He was formerly the Executive Director of the Nelson Mandela Foundation and is currently the Head of the Ford Foundation in Southern Africa. Aghogho Akpome caught up with him in his office in Rosebank, Johannesburg in September 2013.
