Abstract

The aim of a developing country is adjustment to changing circumstances and continuous development. To achieve this it will have to take steps to develop its people and organise human activity. The more the state plays the role of planner, entrepreneur and accelerator of economic and social development the more adjustment and development must be intensified. In developing countries the public service is destined to play an important role in this process. In an attempt to meet this difficult challenge a programme for the training of public servants has been embarked upon in Botswana. This article descriptionbes the organisation created to plan and control the training of the public servants and also discusses the various institutions which are engaged in this training.
