Abstract

The accessibility of electronic computers has made it possible to analyse vast bodies of data which the human mind cannot consider as a whole and summarise. In recent years many techniques for summarising and ordering ecological information have been developed, mainly by plant ecologists. This series of papers is intended to test some promising techniques to see which methods will be useful in marine studies.
