Abstract

Early embryonic development for the first seven days of incubation is described in this study. Results from the study can be put to practical use when determining if eggs are infertile or fertile and also in investigating the age of early embryonic mortalities. This could aid in an early diagnosis of embryo mortality and enable the hatchery manager to minimise incubation losses and more accurately identify incubation problems as opposed to fertility issues.
