Abstract

Farming for profit is in essence the running of a biological factory. This means that farming is not about the keeping of animals or growing of plants only, but actually about producing biological goods that someone is willing to buy at a prize that is more than the cost of producing those goods. Hence, farming consist all those factors relevant to other businesses which are manufacturing commodities, however, with the added element of the natural environment. This additional risk factor is significant in the agricultural production process.
