Abstract

There are two main production areas for canola in the Western Cape with different climatic conditions, namely the Swartland and southern Cape (Lombard & Nel, 2007, Lombard, Strauss & Smorenburg, 2008). Canola is produced for its high food quality oil and is the major oilseed crop in the Western Cape. There are three production factors that are of economic value, namely yield, oil and protein percentage.
