Abstract

It is nearly 30 years since the late Hon. Arthur Douglass, of Heatherton Towers, first noticed the presence of this parasite in his birds and first recognised it as a serious menace to the industry. Specimens of the wire worm were shown to Dr. Becker, Grahamstown, and also forwarded to Prof. Cobbold, the famous English parasitologist.
