Abstract

It would appear that South African amphibians are the least talked about and least written about animals. The last amphibian field guide was 'South African Frogs' written by Neville Passmore and Vincent Carruthers (1995). This book was first published twenty years ago and is currently out of print and no longer on shelves of most bookshops. 'Frogs and Frogging in Southern Africa' by Vincent Carruthers displays a fresh new approach and attempts to introduce the splendour and glory of frogs.
