Abstract

The reviewed nursing curriculum in Namibia incorporated issues related to Primary Health Care and diversification in the practical field for student nurses. This means that the students are exposed more to their communities so that they can identify, manage and refer, if need be, the problems at this level, strengthen their problem solving skills which will enable them to look for solutions independently while taking into account all factors experienced by the family or community. The aim of this study was to explore and descriptionbe the experiences of the students as derived from the placement programme in periurban areas of Windhoek.
