Abstract

Swaziland, like many developing countries, has a significant maternal mortality caused by specific high risk factors. The purpose of the study was to examine nurse-midwives' knowledge and basis for decision-making about maternal reproductive high risk factors in pregnancy. High risk factors under study included placenta praevia, placental abruption, septic abortion, anaemia, pre-eclampsia, eclampsia and cephalopelvic disproportion.
