Abstract

Malawi is one of ten sub-Saharan countries. It has a population of to-million. According to the latest statistics Malawi has a total of 1 million individuals who are HIV +. It is also one of the top three countries worse hit by the HIV pandemic. Worldwide 33-million adults are living with HIV / AIDS. Globally Africa is the worst hit by this epidemic. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the HIV / AIDS epidemic in Malawi, the response to it, evaluation and monitoring of the epidemic and the impact of the response on people and the epidemic itself.
