Abstract

Health is wealth. The wealth of a nation also depends on the health of its citizens. The value of good health cannot be underestimated. This is why every society even as far back as the Greco-Roman period placed a lot of emphasis on developing the health of their citizens. History tells us that in Ancient Sparta, unhealthy children were left to die a natural death at the foot of mount Olympus. In today's society the United Nations through its agencies has put a programme in place that will promote good quality of life and wellbeing among people throughout the world.
