As South Africa puts finishing touches to preparations for hosting the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup™, there is no doubt that marketing is one of the benchmarks for measuring the success of the tournament. In addition to boosting the image of South Africa internationally and its capability to host major games, marketing of the event also promotes tourism as well as economic development in the country.
