Abstract

This study explores the perceptions of operational managers regarding time management in relation to execution of nursing care activities at the Mankweng hospital. Data were collected from 12 participants until data saturation was reached. Four themes and their sub-themes emerged from data analysis using the Tesch's open coding qualitative analysis method. The participants revealed that time management by nurses, commitment during execution of allocated activities, challenges experienced by staff members and effects of lack of time management towards provision of nursing care is experienced during execution of nursing care activities. Nurses must undergo workshops and in-service training during which the importance of time management when executing healthcare activities should be emphasised.
