Abstract

The Millennium Development Goals (MGDs) provided guidance by recommending a framework to government departments on how to formulate and implement policies to address health care problems. Furthermore, they provided guidance on how countries can come up with aid programmes to deal with problems faced by all communities in the world that could be used to address those problems even though the health challenges vary from one country to the other. The MDGs were aimed at improving the lives of the people in all communities even though emphasis was on developing countries. MDGs focused on reduction of child and maternal deaths, combating HIV, malaria and other diseases in terms of health related aspects. Currently, every country is expected to work towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
