Abstract

All along the north-west coast of this Colony immense quantities of seaweed were continually being deposited. Great distress prevailed amongst the inhabitants of the districts adjoining, a few kilns should be built at the most readily available positions. Instruction are given how to reduce the seaweed to ashes, so as to render it of commercial value.
