Abstract

For at least a quarter of a century fruit growing in South Africa has been, seriously hampered by the presence of the Fruit Fly, Ceratitis capitata, Wied., which deposits its eggs preferably in the ripening fruit and thus produces the"" maggots"" so familiar to every one.
