Abstract

During the past two years South, Africa has been introduced to a source of cheap power in the form of the gas engine driven by means of gas drawn from what is known as a ""Suction"" Gas-Producer. As cheap power is one of the most crying wants of the Cape Colony, it is not to be wondered at that this new type of power producer should have, at once, excited the keenest interest amongst all classes of the community, and should finally have become popular.
