Abstract

For the first time in my life (writes a contributor in the Manchester Guardian) I have seen a man discover water fifty feet underground, in a ploughed field, after walking about for an hour and holding in his hands a little forked twig of whitethorn. He is what is called a "" water diviner,"" though the old-fashioned term is ""dowser.""
