Abstract

The part played by the different species of ticks in the transmission of various diseases amongst stock and domestic animals is unfortunately too well known to all owners of stock running on the coast veld of the Cape Colony, to be cited here. If the presence of the tick is essential to the propagation of the disease, then tick eradication will eventually result in its extermination.
