Abstract


A two-dimensional metal-organic framework with transformable void space doubles its carbon dioxide capacity upon exposure to high pressure. MOFs with gate-opening sorption behaviour are rare and this study is distinctive, as it combines high pressure differential scanning calorimetry with single-crystal X-ray diffraction experiments under gas pressure.
