Abstract


In this study the antidiabetic potential of a commercial tea mixture and its constituents were tested by the ability to inhibit carbohydralyse enzymes. It was found of all the extracts tested that buchu possessed the most potent antidiabetic potential, which was comparable with that of acarbose - an antidiabetic prescription drug.
