Abstract


A novel, sulphamoylated compound: 2-ethyl-3-O-sulphamoyl-estra-1,3,5(10)16-tetraene (ESE-16), was in silico-designed and synthesised to be tested for its potential as anti-cancer agent. ESE-16 showed inhibition of cell proliferation, microtubule distruption, hallmarks of apoptosis and increased production in ROS. Data from this study warrants further investigations into the exact action mechanism of this compound.
