The reason for change*
Author F. SmutsSource: Akroterion 30, pp 42 –52 (1985)More LessThis article is an adapted version of a paper read by Prof. F. Smuts at the Teachers' Workshop organised by the Western Cape Branch of the C.A.S.A. on 4th February, devoted to a discussion of the new Senior Certificate syllabus for Latin. It is immediately followed (p 44) by a discussion of how the new syllabus attempts to meet the ""shortcomings"" of the old syllabus by specific reference to the new syllabus. This discussion did not form part of the original paper.
