Abstract

Cognitive science has always been multi-disciplinary, growing as it did out of a recognition that cognition as a general object of study demanded expertise from a variety of fields including psychology, linguistics, computer science and philosophy. More recently, of course, biology has come to play an increasingly important role in this disciplinary mixture.
