Abstract

This article takes as point of departure the nature of coherent research after which it reviews a number of articles that appear in this volume that report the results of a specific applied informatics research project. In the last part of the article two contributions are reviewed about research in higher education, one dealing with curriculum reform as part of developmental higher education and the other providing a glimpse for supervisors and prospective doctoral students into the minds at work of three PhD examiners.
