Abstract

In this article I review two books that deal with the introduction of Outcomes-based Education in South Africa: Changing curriculum: Studies on Outcomes-based Education in South Africa by Jonathan Jansen, Pam Christie and others, and OBE: Outcomes-Based Education, A Teacher's Manual by Helen van der Horst and Ria McDonald. The first book essentially is a diagnosis of what many educationists consider to have gone wrong in the process of designing and implementing OBE. The second book contains many of the solutions to the problems that have been diagnosed in the first book.
