Abstract

Bilingualism is a topic which is of interest not only to linguists, but also to psychologists, teachers, language planners, political scientists and other social scientists. It is an extremely complex phenomenon which should be viewed from a variety of perspectives. Although bilingualism is a well-known phenomenon, it is not easy to define. What does it really mean to be bilingual?
