The learner's hand moves down to the side of the desk, eyes looking straight forward for a moment and then slowly panning across and downwards as they try to sneak a peek at the hidden mobile phone. Yes, modern children are face-to-screen communicators and they struggle to get through a lesson without trying to check their inbox or interact with their facebook account. These are the learners we are trying to get to interact with a black and white textbook of 300 pages. And if you ask me, we don't stand a chance. So what is the alternative?
