Abstract

This activity is designed to give students the opportunity to get some experience with ideas of random sampling and statistical inference in a context that is interesting and easy to understand. The worksheet (given on the following page) is self-explanatory and can be completed within a typical 35-minute block of class time, including some discussion of the results.
