The degree of weathering of eight- and twelve-month wool shorn at different times of the year, was compared. Four equal groups of 16 sheep each and four groups of 12 sheep each, uniform in respect to body mass and quality of wool were kept in an open pen for successive periods of eight and twelve months under favourable feeding conditions of lucerne hay ad lib. in self-feeders and 14 g maize per sheep per day.
