The in vitro digestibility of 30 forage samples was determined with three different inocula. In vitro digestibility of these forages did not differ significantly with inocula from sheep and cattle. A phosphate buffer extract inoculum yielded in vitro results which differed significantly from those yielded by the other two inocula. All three inocula yielded in vitro results which were highly correlated with the in vivo digestibility of dry matter.
