Abstract

A White Leghorn flock previously subjected to a certain degree of inbreeding was used to study the effect of a rapid rate of inbreeding (associated with selection) and subsequent outcrossing on economically important traits. During the last four years of the experiment comparisons were made between inbred fowIs and their outcross half-sibs.
