Abstract

Growth of the pituitary and reproductive organs of Boer goat bucks were studied from birth to one year of age. Fructose was present in the accessory glands at birth and from 56 days of age onwards there was sufficient material present for citric acid assay. Spermatogenesis commenced at 84 days when testis weight increased rapidly. Spermatozoa appeared in the seminiferous tubules at 140 days when the rams weighed 19.5 kg.
