Abstract

A study of the effect of age on the productivity of Chinese geese was carried out at the Cedara Waterfowl Research Unit during the years 1969 and 1970. Egg production was higher in the second, third and later years than in the first year. Egg size increased linearly with age. Egg production commenced in July each year, and reached a peak at the end of August. Thereafter production declined, terminating in mid-December.
